Spott is an Android app from Inochi Ventures that allows you to learn more about your favorite films and TV that's made within your own personal backyard. Using your phone's GPS system, Spott allows users with the idea to browse by movie/show or their location to understand interesting details of that movie, show, or actors.
For example, Stapleton International Airport (now Denver IA) was manchester international in the movie "Die Hard 2" with Bruce Willis. Up until recently, I had no idea the hotel within the movie "Dumb and Dumber" were the Stanley Hotel, that was also the inspiration and setting for Stephen King's popular book and movie, "The Shining".
Along with giving users the opportunity to see their town inside a whole new way, you can also buy movies with the app, plus you are able to send in your own photo from the famous locale in your town.
The interface for Spott is easy to manuever around - you'll be able to choose movies or shows by title, location, or movies which are near you. As a movie and TV fan who occurs love trivia, this is certainly a pretty good app to have if you've got an Android phone. Definitely the highlight on this app is usually to view a wide selection of locations of film scenes, though I think many people will be thinking about where their hometown or current town factors in a variety of movies and shows.
A disappointment is a areas miss, which is often annoying for users who know some movie or show was filmed in their neck in the woods. But to counter this, users can supply images and upload the crooks to Spott. This is actually an excellent social interaction that gets fans involved while they proudly showcase their cities and states.
I think a big let down may be the fact that this app isn't free; with just a small amount of information, this need to be a free app that gets upgraded to pay for more expenses (like to be able to buy and download movies).
