Latest Cartoon Movies Of 2010! Your Thanksgiving free movie list is merely two movies long, but what movies! Unlike Halloween (that I offered which you list of 100 free scary movies here), Thanksgiving requires a different twist. Neither of these is specific to Thanksgiving, however they relate to some themes with the holiday. Frankly, I can enjoy these free movies for Thanksgiving or for any day with the year.

Big oil company propaganda with a heart! Just the free movie we want for Thanksgiving! This 78-minute semi-documentary from 1948 is one in the most lyrical American films available. In 1994, The Louisiana Story was selected for preservation inside the United States National Film Registry with the Library of Congress to "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant." It is the story of an Cajun boy with his fantastic family, living on the bayous in a way of life that individuals can barely imagine.
The boy's family rents land towards the oil company, which comes in, drills, and instead gives off everything much like it was, clean and unspoiled apart from the family features a little more money. (Yes, it absolutely was funded from the Standard Oil Company.)
The boy spends the majority of his time on his narrow boat (pirogue), floating over the bayous, prime snake and alligator habitat, with his pet raccoon. A white and black silent film that ends with a woman being burned alive? Oh, yes, exactly what every family needs at Thanksgiving. But, I have 3 good reasons for including The Passion of Joan of Arc with this pair of free movies for Thanksgiving.
First, I am thankful that The Passion of Joan of Arc was ever made. Second, I am thankful that The Passion of Joan of Arc was preserved. The director Carl Theodor Dreyer (more) died convinced that the last copy was destroyed. In a amount of weirdness that sounds similar to a movie as opposed to truth, a virtually complete print is discovered in 1981 in the janitor's closet of the Norwegian mental institution.
